On September, 1, meetings dedicated to celebration of Knowledge Day and the beginning of a new academic year took place at the Conservatoire. In academic year 2026-27 892 students will take secondary, bachelor, master and PhD courses here. 233 of them are the first-year students.
According to a long-standing tradition, the meeting of teachers and students took place in the Conservatoire Great Hall. The Anthem of the Russian Federation and an ancient students’ hymn «Vivat Academia!» were performed by Students’ Academic Choir.
«Long live professors! Long live students! – these are the words of an ancient students’ hymn “Vivat Academia! Vivant professores!” Rejoice, because you are happy people, you have entered a wonderful conservatoire to get the best profession. During 114 years of its history Saratov Conservatoire has absorbed the best traditions of Russian musical education. On the Knowledge Day I would like to wish you success, health and well-being! Happy Knowledge Day!» - said Rector of Conservatoire, Prof. Alexander G. Zanorin.
The meeting ended with a short concert where students of different educational levels – from Children’s music school to higher education departments of the Conservatoire - performed. Compositions of P. Tchaikovsky, G. Mushel and D. Leeman were performed by Yury Drenin (Music School, class of Prof. Lolita Angert), Arsen Buduryan (Music College, class of Assist. Prof. Natalia V. Golfarb) and Ivan Kapranov (Bachelor course, class of Prof. Viacheslav Y. Bondarenko).
