Chinese New Year at Saratov Conservatoire

Celebrating the New Year by the eastern lunar calendar has long become a good tradition at our conservatory, and this year was no exception. On 26 February, a special concert took place in the Theatre Hall of the Saratov Conservatory to celebrate Chinese New Year and the Spring Festival. International students and their teachers took part in the event. The program included works by Russian, European and Chinese composers, bringing different musical traditions together on one stage.

The host of the concert spoke about rituals and traditions of celebrating the Chinese New Year and about the character of the new symbol of the year — the Red Fire Horse. Guests learned why this symbol is associated with strong energy, a vivid temperament and a desire to move forward.

We are glad that this warm and bright festival unites students from different countries and gives everyone a feeling of spring renewal!
