This year Saratov Conservatoire celebrates its 110th anniversary and hosts events dedicated to this date. The program of festive events started on September, 29-30 with the International scientific conference «Musical education in Russia: preserving traditions and developing new strategies». Representatives of Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Ural, Rostov, Astrakhan, Petrozavodsk, Volgograd conservatoires, Gnesin Russian Music Academy, Omsk university named after F.M. Dostoevsky, Union of composers of Russia, Russian national museum of music came to Saratov to discuss the issues of organization of musical studies, opportunities of scientific and art projects realization, the values of Russian musical education system «school — college - conservatoire».
The conference finished with the open festive meeting of the Conservatoire Academic Council. Within the frame of the meeting the concert with participation of the honored guests was held. The students’ symphony orchestra (conducted by Mikhail Myasnikov) and Honored Artist of Russia, Associate Professor of Moscow conservatoire Ekaterina Mechetina as soloist played the second Concerto of F. Chopin. Students’ academic choir (conducted by Nadezhda Kosheleva) and the Rector of Saint-Petersburg Conservatoire Alexey Vasiliev (cello) performed the composition of S. Ekimov.
Last weekend, on October 8-9, in honor of Saratov Conservatoire 110th anniversary its teachers and students of performed in the Concert Hall of Gnesin Russian Music Academy. On the first evening, the folk choir (artistic director — Galina Burdanova), the orchestra of Russian folk instruments (artistic director — Kirill Ershov) and soloists Boris Aron, Vladimir Grachev, Viktor Kartashov, Vyacheslav Bondarenko presented their programs to the Moscow audience. On Sunday, the program was continued by the Students’ Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mikhail Myasnikov. Conservatoire teachers Vladimir Levitsky, Olga Alakina, Vyacheslav Bondarenko, Igor Vinogradov, Ryu Hee Yun, Olga Skripinskaya participated in the concert as soloists.
The anniversary program will close on October 21-22 with non-stop music marathon. Within 24 hours 25 concerts prepared by students and teachers of all departments will be performed in the halls of the conservatoire.
